Easel Card Picture Tutorial

To make this 4x4 easel card you start with a piece of cardstock 4" x 12". Score at 4", 6", and 8". The new Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334) makes scoring a breeze! Note those cute little markers that you put where you need them so its easy to find your place on the ruler, love that feature!

Fold on the score lines to create an "M' or a "W" depending on how you are looking at it.

Apply adhesive to one of the 2" sections on the inside and fold over the front panel to adhere.

Now decorate! On the bottom (or inside) you will need an element attached with Stampin' Dimensionals (104430) to create a little ledge for the top to stand up behind.

Other supplies used:

122845 - Hello, Doily

122760, wood or 122762, clear - Field Flowers
122495, wood or 122497, clear - Petite Pairs

Sunflower 4x4 Easel Card

I just love Sunflowers! These are from my garden. They had gotten so tall that they fell over today in the wind so decided to cut them off and bring them in to enjoy. So bright and sunny!

The ink on the sunflower is More Mustard and Chocolate Chip. Also used it the Spice Cake designer series paper (124003), Scallop Trim Border punch (118402), Decorative Label punch (120907), Large Oval punch (119855), and the stamp set Petite Pairs (122495 or 122497).

Oh, almost forgot.....I also used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (116806) mixed with rubbing alcohol and spritzed the card. Looks great in person.

I have a couple more easel cards to share and a little tutorial to show you how easy they are to make so check back in the next couple of days.

New Catalog Swap Cards

I recently participated in a card swap with some other demonstrators and just recieved all my swaps today so I will be sharing them with you this week.

Thought I would start with the card I made. I used the hostess set Simply Soft for my swap card. I also used the new specialty designer series paper Flirtatious (122360). I love the laser-cut sheets of doilies that are in the Flirtatious paper.

I colored the flowers with 3 shades of pink Stampin' Write Markers and then added a dot or two of white with the uni-ball Signo white gel pen (105021).

The "kind thanks" comes from the Thank You Kindly stamp set (111700).

To gather the Whisper White Organza Ribbon (114319) fray one end and pull a thread from the center of the satin part. You do need to secure the other end with adhesive to the back of the card to prevent the gathering thread from pulling out before you start gathering.

Spice Cake Fabric Wall Hanging & Pumpkins

The Holiday Mini Catalog starts today!

So many great products and I love the fabric!

Using the Spice Cake Designer Fabric (124066) and Designer Buttons (124113) I created a wall hanging and two matching stuffed pumpkins with one package of the designer fabric. I sort of made up the pumpkins after ones I have seen so really don't have a pattern but they were easy to make. After I was done with the wall hanging I had two strips of fabric that were 8" wide, the Pool Party colored one was 24" long and the other was 28" long. I sewed the 8" sides together and ran a gathering stitch on the top and bottom of the long sides. Gathered the bottom as tight as possible and then adhered a 2" cirlce of wool felt over the gathers with a glue gun. Gather the top loosly and fill about 1/3 full of rice to weight the bottom and fill with stuffing. Gather top tightly and secure by sewing closed. I free hand cut a stem from the Soft Suede print fabric and stuffed it and hot glued to the top of the pumpkin. Added a bow made from the Soft Suede striped grosgrain ribbon (125060) and a Spice Cake Designer button (124113) with White Baker's Twine (124262).

The wall hanging was inspired by a pattern in American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine (October 2011 issue). I changed it up a bit to use my Stampin' Up! supplies on it. I used the Big Shot machine to cut the letters, tags, and leaves. (Leaves #2 die - 113459, Two Tags die - 115954, and Serif Essentials Alphabet die - 113464)
The Pumpkins and tags are make from wool felt that I sponged ink on to add definition. All cut out pieces are adhered with an iron on fabric adhesive.

Happy Stampin'........or Sewing in this case-
