Ears to You Chocolate Bunnies

These cute little "chocolate bunnies" are from the single stamp Ears to You (item #132659).

I stamped the image with Versa Mark ink on Chocolate Chip card stock and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Cut out the three little bunnies and tied some Linen Thread bows around their necks.
"Happy Easter" is from the stamp set Delightful Dozen.

The cute paper used on this card is from the Print Poetry designer series paper pack and the Island Indigo satin ribbon is from the sale-a-bration item Sycamore Street ribbon & button pack.
I sponged Crumb Cake ink on the Tea Lace paper doily to soften the look of the white doily.

Elegant Bird Easter Card

This Easter card features the bird I made in yesterdays picture tutorial of how to made a smaller bird using the Elegant Bird die.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock cut at 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2".
I used a framelit from the Labels Collection Framlits to cut the edge of the card.
To only cut the edge you just place the cutting part of the framelit where you want it and only cover that section with the top cutting plate.
I stamped the front with Crumb Cake classic ink using the large rose (not the solid one) from the Stippled Blossoms stamp set. This creates a really pretty backgound.

Lovin' that 1-1/4" Two-Toned Ribbon.  So nice to work with.
The little strip of satin Pool Party colored ribbon is from the Sycamore Street ribbon & button pack from Sale-a-bration.

The flower is made from the Pool Party paper flower pieces in the Pop-Up Posies designer kit.
I did stamp on them with the Stippled Flowers stamp I used on the card from.
Crumpled up and layered with a brad from Vintage Trinkets.
And, of course, sponged everything with Crumb Cake ink!

Elegant Bird Made Smaller

In my last post I shared a card that used the Elegant Bird die and I wanted to show you how I made the bird smaller.

I love this die but the bird is really big and just takes over a card so this is an easy fix to make the bird more card friendly.

First cut out your bird and wing using the Elegant Bird Die.

Cut the bird in two pieces, not in the center but a little more toward the tail end, as seen in above photo.

Then adhere the pieces back together overlapping evenly at the top edge appox 3/4".
Above picture is the front view of this and below is what it looks like from the back.

Trim off the bottom area to even things out, as seen in above photo.

Now to trim down the wing.  Using the Extra-Large Oval punch insert the wing as seen above.

Run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder.  This helps hide the line where it was put back together again.
Here I used the Fancy Fan folder.

Attach the wing with a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals.
This bird measures about 4-3/4" from beak to tail feather.

I have a card to share using this bird and will post it tomorrow.

Easter Blessings Card

This is one of those cards that was created from pieces that I was planning to use on something else- the bird, the banner and the scallop oval card base - and then I just stuck them all together with a few other elements to create this card.

For the card base I used the Ovals Collection framlits die and Whisper White card stock.
Cut for a regular size card (5-1/2 x 11") fold in half and place framlit over so that it doesn't cut through part of the folded edge, then run through the Big Shot.

I did use the Elegant Bird die but if you notice that it looks smaller that's because it is.
I will have to post how I did that if you haven't seen it yet.
So, stay tuned and I will do a little tutorial on that.

Easter Bunnies

No, not real ones.

Although I am sure the kids would love that.

I am talking the cute little bunnies on the Ears to You single stamp.

I inked up the bunnies with 3 shades of brown - Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip and Soft Suede Stampin' Write Markers.
The "happy easter" is from the stamp set Delightful Dozen.
I used the Vine Street embossing folder (sale-a-bration item) on Certainly Celery for the background.
Sponged everything with Crumb Cake classic ink and a Stamping Sponge.

The flower is made with 3 Calypso Coral paper flowers and a Very Vanilla fabric covered brad from the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit.
To made the flower I dampened the paper and crumpled up.  I used the heat tool to dry the paper and then uncrumpled.  Layer together and put brad through the center.  Just that simple!

Other supplies used are:

Naturals White card stock
Labels Collection Framelits
Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon
Victoria Crochet Trim

Tea for Two Mini Tote and Cards

I am so excited to share with you this project!

I taught a class - Sew and Stamp Camp - at our local quilt shop this past weekend.

We made 4 cards and a little coordinating tote bag for them to fit in.

I designed the tote bag to be just the right size for cards and envelopes.

In the process of getting it just right I found out that I could make 5 (some not the right size) of them from one package of Tea for Two designer fabric.   The finished tote is approx. 5-1/2" tall, 5" wide and 1-1/2" deep.
The handles are made from the Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon and the button in the center of the
fabric flower is from the sale-a-bration item Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button pack.

All the cards are on a base of Crumb Cake card stock and feature the Tea for Two designer series paper.

Thanks for lookin'.

Vintage Valentine

Happy Valentine's day!

Thought I would share this cute vintage Valentine today.

Valentine's day seemed to have snuck up on me.  I knew it was coming but really didn't prepare.  I think I have only made one Valentine card.  Shame on me.  What is the point in having all these card making supplies if I don't use them to make Valentine cards for those I love?
Oh well, there is always next year and perhaps I will do better and actually make and mail some Valentine cards.

Hope you have a great day!

Feeling Sentimental Case

I really liked the vinage feel of the Feeling Sentimental stamp set from sale-a-bration and had to have it.  Then I saw 3 great cards made with this set by Nanci Siegrist and just had to copy them.

I already posted one of the three HERE.
Really love the look of these.

This card with the farris wheel also features the stamp set That's the Ticket and coordinating Ticket Duo Builder punch.

I really like the vintage phone booth and first used it on some "Dr. Who" cards that I made back in December.

Other supplies used are Naturals Ivory and Basic Black card stock, Oh, Hello stamp set, Vintage Trinkets, Linen Thread, First Edition dsp, and  Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon.

More Amore Valentine Sachet

As someone who likes to sew I have been so please with Stampin' Up!'s fabric line.

I love this fabric from the More Amore designer fabric!
I wish I could just buy yards of this print with the words on it.

Have been just looking at the fabric and figured I better do something with it before Valentine's Day.

I just folded over two layers of fabric together and cut out a heart shape.  Not perfect but I'm good with that for this project.

Put right sides together and sew with a 1/4" seam allowance leaving an opening on one side.  Turn right side out and stuff.  I used poly-fill and some lavender that I had.  Then hand stitch opening closed and decorate.

I first glued a piece of Vanilla Flower Trim from top to bottom off to one side.

Then I made a bow with Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon (dampened, scrunched and dried for that vintage feel) and tied it with a couple pieces of Linen Thread.   I then attached 3 Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons on the thread, one at the center of the bow and 2 on the threads hanging down.

To hang the sachet I attached a length of jute to the tops of the back of the heart.
If I had thought about it I would have done this at the beginning and sewn it in the seam.

Timeless Portrait and a Jane Austen Quote

A Valentine decor idea for you today!

Love the Timeless Portrait designer series paper which is no longer in the catalog but it is still available on the Clearance Rack .

I found this printable quote online HERE and the color went perfectly with this paper and the portraits look just right for Jane Austen's time period.

I printed out the quote on Very Vanilla card stock and cut it down and then mounted that on a piece of Island Indigo card stock with a very thin border before attaching it to the piece of paper from the Timeless Portrait designer series paper.

I had a wooden frame that I had picked up at the thrift store that was navy blue.  I painted it with a turquoise blue and then sanded the edges to reveal the navy and also the wood.  Love how it turned out.  I am loving the turquoise and red combo!

No stampin' on this one so I will leave you with

SweetTarts Valentine Treat

The SweetTarts candy hearts fit perfectly in the 1"x8" Cellophane Bags - gotta love em' - so cute and you get 50 bags for only $2.50!

After stuffing the little bag with hearts I tied it closed at the top with a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine.
For the topper I used Hearts a Flutter stamp set and framelit dies along with the That's the Ticket stamp set and Ticket Duo Builder punch.
I layered the pieces together with a little adhesive and puched two holes in the center with the 1/16" Circle punch - like a button - and threaded the baker's twine through and tied a bow.

My French Butterfly

This card uses the stamp sets French Foliage and Swallowtail.

I am lovin' this giant butterfly stamp!  Here it is embossed in gold and colored with More Mustard and Cajun Craze classic ink using a Sponge Dauber.
The background is stamped in Crumb Cake ink with some stamps from the French Foliage stamp set.

Note the distressed edges of the card stock.  I almost missed the fact that SU! has a new Stampin' Distress Tool (item #127562) in the Spring Catalog on the bottom of page 14.  Even after I bought one I couldn't find it in the catalog again - took me a few looks - so just thought I would point it out in case you missed it like I did.  Or, maybe I am the only one with that problem.   I have a couple of other distress tools but really lovin' this new one!

This makes for a quick card with WOW results.

Petite Pocket Valentine

Here is a simple Valentine idea that uses the Petite Pocket die, a few other fun items and, of course, chocolate!

Using the Real Red Core'dinations card stock, Petite Pocket die and the Big Shot I easily created this cute pouch.  I lke to use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to assemble the pocket, you just need a little and hold it for a few seconds.  The little hearts on the flap are made with the heart folder in the Adorning Accents embossing folder set.

The Whisper White card stock heart is cut out using the scalloped heart framelit from the Hearts a Flutter Framelit dies.
"happy valentine's day" is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and is stamped in Real Red.
That cute little cup is from the sale-a-bration set Patterened Occasions.  I used Chocolate Chip and Real Red Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the steam and cup.

Here is my little pile of goodies as I put them together in assembly line fashion.
Pockets made, hearts stamped and cut out, insert chocolate bar, tie baker's twine to hold closed and attach heart with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Simple and cute.

Secret Garden Birthday Card

This card uses several new items from the Spring Catalog.

One of my favorites is the Honeycomb embossing folder (I just really need a punch that coordinates!).  Here it is used with the Primrose Petals Core'dinations card stock and sanded so the white core shows through.

The print paper is from the Print Poetry designer series paper stack.  Lots of fun prints in that!
Love the Natural Trim Ribbon!

"Birthday Wishes" is from the stamp set Bring on the Cake.  It is stamped with Raspberry Ripple ink on Naturals Ivory card stock.  The ovals are cut out using the Ovals Collection framlits dies.

And, of course, I used the Secret Garden stamp set and framelit dies which come in a bundle.

For the flower I stamped three images with Raspberry Ripple ink, used the matching framlit to cut out the whole flower then scissors to cut out the center and middle areas of the other 2 that I stamped.
Sponged the edges with Primrose Petals and colored in the center with a So Saffron Stampin' Write marker.  They are layered with Stampin' Dimensionals.
