Wetlands Beach Scene

I have been enjoying creating beach scenes with this little birds stamp from the Wetlands stamp set.

Sponged on Crumb Cake ink for the sand and Soft Sky for the sky and up to the sand.

Masked off the horizon and sponged on Pacific Point for the ocean and then added a little to the top and edges of the sky.

Added waves with the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen.  I sometimes really fight with this pen and try all the tricks.  I find that putting in in my pants pocket for a while before even starting my card and warming it up works the best.

Canvas Creations Masculine Birthday Card

Using the deer head from the stamp set Remembering Christmas I stamped on a piece of Canvas Creations blank canvas sheet with Chocolate Chip ink. To soften the edges of the canvas I sponged on Sahara Sand ink.
Love the texture and how well it works with the Sweater Weather designer series paper.

The "happy birthday" is from the hostess set Banner Greetings and is stamped on Soft Sky card stock with Chocolate Chip ink.

Truly Grateful Card

Used the new Label Card Thinlits Die (item #133479) to make this card.

The card base is Sahara Sand and the printed paper is from Sweater Weather designer series paper.

Inside is a quote from the stamp set Trust God along with the word "thankful" from the Expressions Thinlits Dies.

Thank You Cards

For these cards I used the large "thank you" from the Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set.  See the flyer for this set HERE .

On this card I stamped "thank you" with VersaMark ink on Watercolor Paper and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.   Using an Aqua Painter I applied Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight ink over the "thank you" which resists the color because it has been embossed.
I stitched around the edges of the watercolor paper after attaching to a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock.

Using the same technique as above but I embossed with the Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder and used Coastal Cabana ink for the water coloring.

Love the sparkle on this one!

Thankful Negative

What? that doesn't sound right...a thankful negative?
Thankfulness should be positive...
but this one isn't...

I used the positive of the "thankful" Expressions Thinlits die on a card HERE
and I saved the negative and all the little pieces to use on another project and here it is:

I attached the "thankful" negative on a piece of Soft Sky card stock, love the look of Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip together!  Added all the little inside pieces with the 2-Way Glue Pen...it's a little  tedious but worth the effort for the look.  Worst part was that I had all the little pieces laying out and set something down nearby with enough force to create a breeze that blew them off the table - oh, what fun...but I found them and all is well.

Love these cute little acorns from the stamp set Truly Grateful.  Stamped them in Chocolate Chip ink on Soft Sky card stock and cut out.  Used a little bit of Linen Thread for a bow and attached with a Glue Dot.

Also used on this card the Victoria Crochet Trim and the Stylish Stripes embossing folder.

Winter Frost Origami Boxes

I have seen these little boxes on a couple of blogs but with no directions on how to make them.
After a bit of a search I located a picture tutorial HERE .

Not hard to make but need to take your time and get the folds right...gets easier with every one you make.

These are sweet little boxes that are rectangular on the outside with a square box on the inside.
The lid closes with one flap fitting into the other.

I used a 6", 8" and 10" squares of Winter Frost designer series paper for my three boxes.

The tag is made using the Merry Little Christmas stamp with Smokey Slate and Island Indigo ink on Whisper White cardstock.  The snowflake behind the tag is made with the Festive Flurry stamp set and framelits bundle.

Well, what are you waiting for...go make a cute little box!

Gently Falling Thankful Card

This was my first time playing with the Expressions Thinlits Dies.  Wasn't sure if I would like them or not...worried they would be a pain to work with...but they are not.
I love them!
The trick is to use a piece of wax paper directly on the die then the cardstock, poke gently with the paper-piercing tool through the little holes in the die to remove the paper.

The word "thankful" was cut out of Chocolate Chip card stock and adhered to the card using the 2-Way Glue Pen to apply little dots of glue on the back of the word.

Used the Gently Falling stamp set to stamp leaves on three different papers from the Sweater Weather dsp then cut out the leaves.  Used the Pretty Print embossing folder on Very Vanilla card stock for the background.  Card base is Sahara Sand.
