Evening Star

One last Christmas card for this year.
This one features the stamp set White Christmas.  I just love this cute stamp set and the little snowman is my favorite.

For the background I embossed stars with the Lucky Stars embossing folder and rubber white craft ink over them to make them stand out.

Added a little star from the In-Color Sequin assortment.

Here is a quilt that I made for my sister's birthday last month.  It is called Evening Star.
Wish I had gotten a photo of it quilted because it turned out beautiful.

Nature's Peace

This year I have been using up most of my Christmas card samples to send out instead of making one that is the same for everyone, which is what I like to do, but it seems time is flying and I didn't get to it.  I did run out so had to make a few last minute cards so thought I would share this one that is quick and simple.

I heat embossed with white embossing powder this image from the Nature's Peace stamp set on Naturals Ivory cardstock.  I then roughed up the edges and sponged soft suede around the edges (and a couple other colors in the middle that were pastel) and used an image from Gorgeous Grunge stamp set for the splatter spots.  I added a little dazzling diamonds and a bow of linen thread and was done!

White Christmas Gift Cards

I made these cute little 3x3 gift cards using the White Christmas Photopolymer stamp set.
So glad Stampin' Up! did this one in Photopolymer as some of the stamps are so little and they stick so well to the clear blocks for stamping.

Of course, some sparkle was needed, so added some with the Dazzling Details.

Added one more because I didn't use the little banner in the above set.

These are so cute and easy to make.

Color Embossing with Blendabilities Markers

I have been having fun coloring with the Blendabilities Markers from Stampin' Up!
They work great for coloring on white heat embossed images!

For this card I stamped the pine branch with VersaMark ink on Basic Black card stock and then heat embossed white embossing powder.  I then took the Old Olive Blendabilities Markers and colored the pine needles and used the Bronze and Mocha markers from the Skin Tone Assortment to do the branch.  The pine cones used the same markers but I embossed them on Early Espresso card stock.
The stamp sets used on this card are Ornamental Pine and For All Things.

This card features the stamp set Nature's Peace and is stamped on Crumb Cake card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I then colored in some areas with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendabilities Markers.

Lovin' the Blendabilities Markers
So versatile...use to color in images, color on embossing, and add color to rhinestones and pearls.

Wonderous Wreath for Fall

I am so excited about the Wonderous Wreath stamp set and coordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies!  I love that they have little tabs on the stamps and framelits so it is easier to get them lined up!

This is the first card that I have made with this set and look forward to doing some Christmas cards with it.

The "hello fall" banner comes from the stamp set For All Things.

CASing the Holiday Catalog

If you don't already know...CASing is copying and sharing.

Here are a couple of cards that I CASed from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.
Both are found on page 27.
They are a little different from the catalog but not much.

This card features the Ornamental Pine stamp set.  Instead of using the Washi tape (because I didn't have it) for the polka dots under Christmas Wishes I used a small strip of paper from the All Is Calm specialty designer series paper.

For this card the catalog uses Old Olive but I made mine with the new In-Color, Mossy Meadow.

If your wanting to copy a card from a catalog you can find the supplies by clicking on the Stampin' Supplies list under the catalog  HERE .

Cute Robot Card

This cute robot image is from the Boys will be Boys stamp set.

The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with the Smokey Slate Stampin' Blendabilities Markers.

The Smokey Slate card stock background is embossed with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder.

The "you did it!" is from the stamp set Bravo.

Corner Garden

The new Corner Garden background stamp lends itself perfectly for practicing with the new Blendabilities markers.

I think that came out okay...
all that was left was to add a sentiment from the Blessed by God stamp set and mount on a piece of Coastal Cabana card stock.

Boys Will Be Boys

My boys just lately returned from a 2 week vacation at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
Among other things they took a trip to the Lego store and were each treated to a rather large set of Legos.
I had the perfect new stamp set, Boys Will Be Boys, for them to send a thank you card.

Note the large embossed dots on the background paper...the new Large Polka Dot embossing folder!

I played with the Stampin' Up! Blendabilities to color in the lego blocks.
The colors I used are Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, and Costal Cabana.
When using Blendabilites you need to stamp the image with Memento Ink so the ink won't smear when using the alcohol ink markers.

Kinda Eclectic

Okay...its been a while so don't faint or get overly excited....
I am going to post a card I made with new stuff!

The new catalog has been out since June and I got a few goodies and they have just sat in the box they came in.  Unattended to... except to pull out the new Blendability markers and play with those... a little.  Meanwhile a lot of sewing has gone on and I have taught some quilt classes at the local quilt shop this summer.

Anyway, I was in need of a birthday card and didn't have one on hand that worked.  Do you every do that?  have a lot of cards but just not the right one?  so you have to make one!

This card uses the new stamp set Kinda Eclectic.
Love it!  and look forward to making more cards with it.

Other new supplies used on this card are the In Color Sequin Assortment and the Venetian Crochet Trim.
The sentiment is from the stamp set Blooming with Kindness.

I made this tote bag with Downton Abbey fabrics for a friend of mine...the one I needed the card for.

Inside is a pocket featuring Downton Abbey.

Thanks for looking!

I will try and get my stampin' act together and post more often.

Too Kind

For this card I used the stamp set Too Kind.  The flowers are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral and the stems in Old Olive.
The banner is cut out from a framelit in the Circle Card Thinlits Die set.

The Old Olive card stock is embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder that will be retiring May 31.  I will miss this embossing folder.  Also retiring is the Calypso Coral Baker's Twine.

Happy Easter

...still stamping and coloring tulips as my real ones outside still haven't bloomed...

Using the stamp set Blessed Easter, I inked up the image with Raspberry Ripple and Always Artichoke Stampin' Write markers and stamped on Whisper White cardstock.
Then I colored them in with Pistachio Pudding and Pink Pirouette markers.

Wishing you a blessed Easter!

Red Tulips

We are always so far behind in Spring coming to our area that by this time of year I really enjoy stamping flowers.  My tulips in the yard are just coming up and I hope to see them later this month.

The tulips on this card are from the stamp Blessed Easter

The image is stamped on Whisper White card stock with Black Stazon ink.
I colored in the image with Real Red and Garden Green ink and blender pens.

Hello Baby Card and Quilt

Needed a baby card and I don't have any current "baby" stamps but I do have the words "hello baby" from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes.
I used the Fresh Prints designer series paper stack for the banners along with the Banner Punch from the sale-a-bration catalog to shape the bottoms of the banners.

A simple card that matches the baby quilt I made!

Celebrate Card and Union Jack Quilt

Well, once again I have been spending more time sewing than card making and my little blog sits unattended so I made a card to celebrate finishing a quilt top!

For this card I used the Too Kind stamp set and just stamped the flowers upside down to look like fireworks and added a little sparkle with Dazzling Details.
The "Celebrate" is from the Best of Birthdays stamp set which it only available until March 31.

Now onto the quilt that I am celebrating.
Perhaps I should wait and celebrate when it is all finished and quilted but this one took so much of my life hours that just finishing the top was a huge success.

I love tea time and all things British so when I saw this pattern called His Royal Union Jack in the January/February 2014 McCall's Quilting Magazine I knew I had to make it.
This was the first time I have done paper piecing and after the top was finished and it was time to remove the paper that alone was a 5 hour job!

The cute red fabric with the little tea pots in the picture below will be the backing fabric.
Love it!

And, just so you know, I am working on some cards so will have some to share soon.
