Fall Sheltering Tree

Fall is here in full force with all it's beautiful colors and so I pulled out the lovely Sheltering Tree stamp set and combined it with the pumpkin from the Jar of Haunts stamp set to create this thank you card.

For the tree I stamped the trunk in Soft Suede and the large dotted stamp (leaves) in Delightful Dijon and then took the smaller dotted (leaves) stamp and added Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze leaves.
I stamped the tree image on a larger piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut it to a square using the largest square die in the Layering Squares framelits set.
The background is Cajun Craze cardstock embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder.

For the pumpkin I stamped it in Cajun Craze and then using an Aqua Painter and ink refills of Delightful Dijon and Pumpkin pie I colored the pumpkin.  The leaf is Always Artichoke and the stem Soft Suede.
I used the Banners for You and Bunch of Banners framlits for the sentiment.
I also added a bit of Gold Metallic Thread behind the banner.

To finish it off I added a sprinkle of Gold Wink of Stella and also some speckles of Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon using the Stampin' Write Markers in those colors.

Tip of what not to do:
I felt the need to speed up the drying of larger drops of Gold Wink of Stella and used the heat tool which messed up the Gold Metallic Thread that I had so nicely looped above the banner, the bottom ones didn't get the heat and still look good.  Should have just been patient or maybe added more heat to see what would happen further to the thread.

Emerald Envy Christmas Pines

I thought it was about time I played with the Emerald Envy Ombre Stampin' Pad a little and had fun!
Love it for the pines with the Christmas Pines stamp set as seen on the card below.
It is the only stamp pad I used for color on this card.

To add some sparkle I stamped the snowflake/dots stamp with VersaMark ink and embossed with silver embossing powder.

For this next card I again used the Emerald Envy Ombre Stampin' Pad to stamp the pines and the "Noel".  Added some pinecones made with the Pretty Pines thinlits dies and Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron, and Silver Glimmer paper.

Finished it off with a bow of 3/8" Emerald Envy Silky Taffeta Ribbon from the combo pack in the holiday catalog and I did color over the stamped images with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush but it doesn't show in the photo.

Didn't used the ombre pad on this card. I started out with embossing Emerald Envy cardstock with the Pine Bough Textured Embossing Folder and layered that on a card base of Mint Macaron.
I added some pines cut out with the Pretty Pines Thinlits dies in Mint Macaron and Silver Foil.
For the pinecones I stamped images from the Christmas Pines stamp set with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder on Mint Macaron and Emerald Envy cardstock then cut them out with the coordinating Pretty Pines thinlits dies.
The "Noel" is also silver embossed.

I am really liking the Emerald Envy as a green option for Christmas cards.

Holly Jolly Pretty Pines

This card features the Holly Jolly Layers hostess stamp set and the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies.
I started out with embossing a piece of Vellum Cardstock with the Pine Bough Textured Impressions embossing folder.

I then added a piece of designer series paper from the Warmth & Cheer paper stack on a card base of Garden Green cardstock.
I stamped the greeting from Holly Jolly Layers twice, once in Garden Green then again in Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the Layering Squares Framelits.
With the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies I cut out some pines with Garden Green and Basic Black cardstock.
For the pinecone I stamped an image from the Christmas Pines stamp set in Basic Black on Whisper White and then cut it out with the coordinating die.

To finish this card off I added a bow of Whisper White Baker's Twine, some white and black sequins from the Metallics Sequins Assortment and some shimmer with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Christmas Pines

I have really been having fun playing with the Christmas Pines stamp set and coordinating Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies from the holiday catalog and I have several more cards to share with you.

The card I am sharing today features the This Christmas Designer Series Paper that is in the annual catalog.

Cardstock used for this card is Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Mint Macaron.
The "Christmas Blessings" is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and the frame is Basic Black and then hand cut out.

To make the little white berries on the Cherry Cobbler piece I used the White Stampin' Chalk Marker.  I did have to go over them a couple of times but it works better for me than the white gel pen that I often fight with no matter what trick I try to use with it.

Woodland Pretty Pines

I made a couple of Christmas cards using the Woodland embossing folder along with the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies.

This first card has a card base of Smokey Slate with and a piece of Vellum Cardstock that was embossed with the Woodland folder adhered to it.

The pines are die cut from Garden Green cardstock and the pinecones are Soft Suede and Early Espresso cardstock.  The greeting is from the Christmas Pines stamp set.
I added a little Silver Metallic Thread and some sequins along with a die cut of berries out of Whisper White cardstock. In the next photo I added another sprig of the berries that was cut out of Silver Glimmer paper.
A little more sparkle never hurts.

For this next card I embossed Crumb Cake cardstock with the Woodland folder and then sponged on Soft Suede ink onto the tree trunks.

The pines are Garden Green and Always Artichoke and I sponged them a little with the Soft Suede ink.  The pinecones are different, one is Crumb Cake and Soft Suede and the other is Sahara Sand and Early Espresso.
I stamped the "JOY" and nativity image from the stamp set Joyful Nativity with Early Espresso ink.
The nativity image was stamped on a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock and punched out with a circle punch and adhered with Stampin Dimensionals.

Not really sure what the right way is to do the pinecones but they work well so many ways.
Each piece works well alone or layered together like I did here.

Best Birds Birthday Card

I have been busy making many Christmas cards with items from the holiday catalog and this card started with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock embossed with the Pretty Paisleys textured impressions embossing folder that is in the holiday catalog.

This rest of this card features the Best Birds stamp set and Birds & Blooms thinlits dies bundle in the annual catalog.
The bird is cut out of Tip Top Taupe, branch is Early Espresso and the flowers are Soft Sky.
I added some Tip Top Taupe 5/8" Mini Striped Ribbon with some Tear & Tape and then added the branch on top by stitching it on with my sewing machine.
The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock.

Turquoise Thankful Pumpkin

I made this card with the leftover pieces from the card I shared yesterday.
I first started with Tempting Turquoise but then changed it to Soft Sky so I had the oval and the pumpkin already done it the Turquoise so might as well make a card with them.

The branches are made with black cardstock and silver foil paper cut out with a die from the Pretty Pines Thinlits dies.  The pumpkin is from the Jar of Haunts stamp set and the thankful banner from the Endless Thanks stamp set.
Added a little Silver Metallic Thread and added some texture to the cardstock with the Elegant Dots and the Festive embossing folders.

Romantically Inspired

I am so excited about the card I am going to share with you today.

I just love it when the Romantic Homes magazine comes to my mailbox.
I like to make a cup of tea and sit down to look though it.

As soon as I opened it up I saw an inspiring sight and wanted to create a fall card with the same look.

I needed a pumpkin and the Jar of Haunts stamp set had the perfect one.
I stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock in Soft Suede ink and added some color with Soft Sky.

Next was some pine branches made with the Pretty Pines thinlits dies and Garden Green cardstock.
I needed a little rose but didn't have what I wanted so used a small flower from the Best Birds stamp set and added a banner from the Endless Thanks stamp set.
Using the Layering Ovals framelits I cut out a piece of Soft Sky cardstock and Whisper White.
Needing a little texture, I embossed the white oval with the Elegant Dots embossing folder.

The "silver platter" is made using the Silver Foil Sheets and the Pretty Paisleys textured impressions embossing folder.  I cut it out and then sponged on Soft Suede ink and rubbed off the excess with a paper towel, it did soften the silver a bit to give it a tarnished look.
For the background I used a card base of Very Vanilla cardstock and then an overlay of Whisper White cardstock cut out with the Detailed Floral Thinlits.

I really love how it turned out!

Mica Flakes

When I first looked through the Holiday Catalog I completely missed the Mica Flakes Trio Pack on page 41. This pack has white, gold and green mica flakes in it.

I love the white Mica Flakes and new I would be using them for a snowy shaker card.

The Candy Cane Lane designer series paper was perfect for this project.
Just cut out one of the cute little houses.  For the background of the house I used a stamp from the Christmas Pines stamp set and stamped the snowflakes in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock. I stamped a larger piece than I needed and used a scrap for the banner which uses the stamp set Star of Light for the "Merry Christmas" and the Bunch of Banners framelits.

For the opening and frame of the shaker area I used the Layering Squares framelits.
I put some adhesive on the roof of the house and added Dazzling Diamonds and let that dry before assembling my card.  I then added some more Dazzling Diamonds along with the white Mica Flakes into the shaker window.  I love how this turned out but wish I had placed the house up a little higher so the "snow" didn't cover it up so much.

My next card that features the Mica Flakes was an afterthought...
I wanted to create this soft vintage looking card and I did but then I just had those green Mica Flakes looking at me and I thought...what if I added them to some leaves?...
and so I did...kinda looks like holly.  Then with that being shiny I had to add some red glitter to the berries.
This card uses the Wondrous Wreath and Christmas Pines stamp sets on Tip Top Taupe cardstock with Tip Top Taupe and Real Red inks along with some Cherry Cobbler bakers twine.

Today is the day!

I CASed the catalog (page 4) and made this adorable card with the Candy Cane Lane designer series paper.

I did hand cut those cute little houses out of the paper but it was easy.
I popped up the center one on dimensionals and added some Clear Wink of Stella to the snow on the roofs.  The "Merry Christmas" is from the Star of Light stamp set.
